In Language we worked on our final Literature Circle role and these are due tomorrow. We will have our book celebration on Wednesday.
In gym we did long jump and worked on our running. The track meet is in two weeks so we're getting ourselves trained up for that. It is on Thursday May 15th with the raindate scheduled for the16th.
In math we began our work on division. We figured out a couple of strategies and then focused in on our "Chunky Banana" strategy (a wonderful name created by the kids).
This strategy has the students breaking up the dividend into the number of groups needed.

This is a good way for the kids to show their work when there are only a few groups to divide into.
The last half of the day was spent on our new written assignment: Science fiction. The written work will be done at school and will be done on their devices. Already I can see that kids have written more.
This ended our day as there was a huge intro to this topic and then they had a chance to write independently.
