Day 157-158 - Math Test tomorrow - Division

Way to go at T & F on Friday everyone! I was impressed with your determination and good behaviour! It is always amazing to be able to trust the students to present their best no matter where they are! Well done grade fives!

Today began with French then on to language. The stories are rolling and so of the kids have even printed their Sci Fi stories off in complete form! Wow!out

We had computers and there were many things going on in the lab. We also had our pictures taken today. Unfortunately this was news to me because my notes that were to be sent home were put in someone else's mailbox last week so I didn't even know they existed. I apologize to those who were also in the dark because I was. Pictures were taken, but I know that not all were ready for that! Sorry once again.

We had gym outside today due to the photos being taken. We played a couple of games of Capture the Flag.

In library Mr. Heidman told us about Digital Citizenship.

In science the students presented their science posters/powerpoints.

Tomorrow for the division test here are a few questions. You can use whatever "style" of division that you need to.

The level 4 questions will always be when the "traditional" method is used. The most direct way of dividing numbers.

The other strategies that we have used are Chuck it up, Subdivision, Addivision, Subtractavision and traditional.
Here are a bunch of division questions that you can use for studying. There will be a problem or two on the test as well.

http://mrnussbaum.com/division_games/ Here are a bunch of division games that you can play online. They are more simple division, but division you should know!

http://www.kidsnumbers.com/long-division.php - here is a long division game.

http://www.math-play.com/Division-Millionaire/division-millionaire.html - A good one because it gets harder and harder as you go!

Hope these help!
