Today began with French and then we found out about Cinquains.
Here's how to write a Cinquain:
1st line: Noun (topic)
2nd line: two describing words that describe the topic
3rd line: three -ing verbs having to do with the topic
4th line: thoughts and information about the topic (about 4 words)
5th line: synonym to topic
Example: Energy
renewable, nonrenewable
using, conserving, wasting
We must care more
Power
So far for our Energy Poetry Anthology we have to have 2 Haikus, 2 Limericks, and 2 Cinquains. Tomorrow we will be working hard on this.
In computers the kids were working on an inquiry based research project based on the relationship between the First nations groups and the European explorers.
In math we challenged ourselves with more probability problems.
In social studies we used a map without a legend to map out the First Nations people groups before the European explorers came. We added our own legends and drew where they we located.
Here is the website to help finish that up: http://www.slmc.uottawa.ca/?q=first_languages
Be sure to really be specific about looking at this map and your own. Transfer it properly.
Have a great night!
