Day 30 - Science Presentations, French Quiz

Today began with French. Their plays are looking very good! There is a quiz tomorrow in which the kids need to chose the best word.

Second period began with "Peaceful" our Remembrance Day song. We then read The Hatchet. Brian thought he heard an airplane and raced to light a fire at a high point in the wilderness and the plane turned away! He is losing hope.

We talked about the Reading Response Journal's last paragraph. This is the chance for the kids to put lots of themselves into their letter. They can chose a prompt from the front of their books and write a paragraph using one of those.

During math we talked about money. What cents actually mean and Ms. Wagner got a feel for where the kids are in the knowledge of money. We will be learning about giving change and adding $ for grocery shopping. We'll also do some problem solving tomorrow.

DPA was Inspector Clueless, a favourite game that is like a big game of Clue!

For science we watched How Hotdogs are Made!! That was an aside (thanks Lauren H.) and then we were introduced to the Periodic Table of the Elements. We did a little BINGO using the symbols from the table and then created our own element using our last names. For instance my element is WG which is atomic #71 with a mass of 170 and the Latin name is Wagnerium.

End of the day had us silent reading. Remember that we have to chose our Reading Response novels by tomorrow!

Have a wonderful evening!
Ms. W
