Today began with reading the end of Hatchet. What a great book! We're sorry that it's finished. So that is two books in two months....what shall we read for the next book?
Inferring was the reading strategy that we touched on today. We talked about reading between the lines and using our schema to infer about what is going on in a piece of writing or even a picture. Any text really.
The lightbulbs went on as the kids discovered that they are probably inferring all of the time.
This lead to some free writing and some of the kids used the inferring exercises as their jumping off point.
During 3rd period we went to reading buddies and did a Venn diagram comparing the big buddies to the little ones.
French was during 4th period and this was a time of practicing for their play.
During 5th we did the Science test and 6th was a Jr. Assembly.
