Bonjour, they all said to me as I walked into the room. Yes, that's right. Today began with French!
Percy Jackson met Medusa, (or Auntie Em as she tried to disguise herself) today in our Lightning Thief book. We learned today in our writing workshop that our Personal Narratives need to be less like a summary and more like a story. Make it readable, interesting, entertaining! This is the last week for building our bank of stories. Next week we'll choose one, or create a new one to be assessed, following all of the criteria!
Tomorrow is Grammar Thursday!
In computers the kids had a chance to finish their Government Prezi. We'll have one more session tomorrow. The other kids who had it finished worked on creating graphs using the program "Create a Graph" online.
In Social Studies we watched a little of the NEWS about the Typhoon in the Phillipines and how Canada is sending a DART squad to help out. The kids then did a summary of an article (whether Municipal, Provincial or Federal) to practice for their reading responses.
In math we had a little fun rearranging the classroom, using desks to demonstrate the meaning of the word "mean" or average. We'll work more on this in the days to come.
The study sheet for tomorrows little math test is on the blog here.
Have a nice night!
