Day 59 - Math pg. 15-16, Writing Good Copy (extended to Monday), Social Studies Write up (Monday - rough)

Today began with French and then on to Grammar Thursday. Today we talked about proper vs. common nouns and what those look like (to capitalize or not to capitalize!).

In the computer lab the kids worked on their personal narratives. Some of the kids completed these but the due date has been extended to Monday for those that are not finished.

In math we created repeating patterns using pattern blocks and then applied this knowledge by doing some work in our books. This included finding the nth block.

In social studies the kids had a challenge. They became the mayor of their own city. This city was about to be hit by an ice storm. The storm was foretold by Environment Canada and the kids (as the mayor) had to do a write up of the services that he/she would provide and figure out what services the other levels of government would have to help to provide. This is a summative assessment to see what they have learned so far about the shared responsibilities of each level of government.

This took us to the end of the day.

Have a great Thursday night.
