Day 86 - Errol Lee Tomorrow, Math Page 271, Read, Health Test on the 29th, Social Studies Test tomorrow, Math Test signed

Parlez-vous francais? Hopefully you speak French better than I do. It is a great skill to know and I wish with all of my heart that was multilingual. I've even lived in other cultures and studied their languages and well....I'd encourage everyone to do their best at this age! It's that "old dog, new tricks thing" with me, but I'm still willing to try. Imagine the people you'd be able to meet and the places you'd be able to go. Do you know the countries whose official languages are French?
Also, understanding the rules, tenses and masculine and feminine words in French can help you to learn other languages as well! Do your darndest each day in this subject!
Anyway, french began the day today.

Language, which included a reading from Sea of Monsters and Reading Workshop was during 2nd period. What I have noticed is the increasing effort put into all of the student's work during the reading workshop time. This week's article is about the special Loonie that was made by the Royal Canadian Mint for the Olympics this year. They still haven't indicated whether they are going to freeze a Lucky Loonie into the hockey ice!

In math the kids learned the three different formulas for figuring out perimeter and worked together in groups to figure out a problem, using one of these formulas.
In science we learned about forces on structures and why it is important to know about these, especially when building something and even in sports!!!

I have a picture of our special experiment today. I lost track of the number of books we put up on the eggs! I think we figured 35 ish?? The egg is the perfect shape!
