Today began with French then on to Reading Workshop as the kids learn more and more about non-fiction text features.
In Gym we did the fitness testing getting ready for our big test on Tuesday.
In science we measured using spring scales or force meters. Items we measured in Newtons. Everything from 0.1 N to 40 N (a chair). The kids are now working on their title pages for this unit.
In math we concentrated on Area and found out that when you multiply two sides of a quadrilateral you get the area or the space that is inside a shape. If you can email me with the formula for area, then I'll give you a little sumptin' sumptin' for your efforts (if you're the first!).
After math we got the chance to listen to the other classes election speeches. We returned the favour, 'cause that's what they did for us! Go grade five team!!!
Have a nice evening!

P.S. We've met our reading goal and then some!!! Let's fill another sheet!
P.P.S. We were excited to find out today who the bearer of the Canadian flag will be at the opening ceremonies of the winter olympics. Go Hayley!
