Congratulations to Maya, the winner of last night's blog question. Tonight's question has to do with the shark reading we did this morning. What does ovoviviparous mean? Email me! ajwagner@mail1.scdsb.on.ca.
Today began with independent reading and then a comprehension exercise about the Great White Shark! No reading about the Great White is complete without a little Discovery Channel to go along with it, so we did that too! Here is the link to that video.
Next we talked about what a good independent reader looks like and sounds like and how it is very similar when we do independent writing as well. The kids spent the last 30 minutes of class doing just that, writing. This was a "Free Write" so there were not any restrictions put upon them....just write!
After recess the kids went to Mrs. McCormick's class to do Art (this is our only rotary this year) while I had her class for music and gym.
Health was after recess and then we finally got to our experiment with apples. We're going to see what happens to pieces of apples that have been dunked in a solution of sugar water/salt water/lemon juice and just air. It should be interesting!
DPA ended the day.
Have a wonderful Thursday evening!
