Today began with French.
During 2nd period we learned about the different ways we think while we read. We visualize, we predict, we think about the language that the author is using and we even connect to the story or the characters.
I read a story about sloths. It was a children's book, but it was amazing how much thinking went into it while I read.
The students all read the same story and had a chance to write down what they were thinking too. It was interesting that the same story could conjure up so many different connections and visualizations. Well done gang.
After recess we had computers and the kids signed up for Prezi.com. This is a program that we will be using for an assignment in Social Studies starting within the next couple of weeks.
Gym was during 4th period.
After lunch we talked about numbers and their place values. The kids tried to beat me in a game of Beat Ms. Wagner. Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn't!
Finally we had a few minutes to watch a couple of Brainpop videos about Matter. This was a precursor to our unit on the Changes of Matter and was a glimpse into it so the kids know what to draw on their title pages, due this Monday!
