Day 8 - Writing, Book orders due tomorrow, Art (due next week)

Today began with our Read aloud and then we went on to watching a half hour documentary on Terry Fox. This in preparation for our writing assignment (a little background on Terry's journey).
Afterward we talked about different perspectives and how all things can mean different things depending on who is talking about it. For example accomplishment could  mean tying ones shoes to a five year old and it could also mean landing on the moon for an astronaut. It was definitely an interesting conversation.

We then wrote from the perspective of a pencil sharpener. What they must be feeling and thinking. The kids did a wonderful job!

After recess the students went to Art class and did a wonderful project using their names.

Health was during 5th period and then during last period we started talking about non-Newtonian liquids. Liquids that get thicker or thinner depending on pressure. We'll be making goop tomorrow to demonstrate these strange types of "liquids".

Have a wonderful evening. I can't believe tomorrow is already FRIDAY!!!
