Today began with French and the kids are excited about doing their little play!
During 2nd period the students who were not quite finished their friendly letters did those while we read the book "Hatchet". Brian, in the book, is just realizing that it could be days before he gets rescued and that realization brings on panic and he begins to think about his basic needs. We are beginning our business letters too, so we just started addressing the letters.
Thanks for all who brought in stamps and envelopes. There are a few who have to double check their addresses. Please do so for Monday and then we can take a trip to the mailbox to mail them!
Computer lab and gym were great during 3rd and 4th. In the lab the students watched 5 minute movies about how stuff is made (from the Discovery Channel) made jot notes and then a chain of events. Later in science (6th)we discussed the environmental and social impacts of manufacturing bubble gum!
Gym was dedicated to volleyball.
5th period we utilized the charts that were given to us to set up a problem properly. These strategies will be used throughout the whole year. Some caught on well!! Keep up the good work!
Science was 6th, and I wanted to be sure the everyone knows where to find the Scientific Method outline. Click HERE and it'll guide you to the ASSIGNMENTS page on the blog where you'll find it!
Have a gum-free weekend!
