Day 78 - Hwk. Math Problems, Read, Stories (from before the holidays!!)

Yes, oh yes, we have some reading machines in our classroom. Some are reporting 90 minutes of reading! We're definitely going to have to change the scale on our little classroom thermometer!

Today was exciting because we have 6 new candidates for our classroom elections. Those are Cady Elle, Hanna, Julia, Logan M., Zack and Lauren H. These 6 will do a short 1-2 minute speech to tell the rest of the class why they should be the Prime Minister of Wagnerville (coined by Aidan just today).

We learned what it takes to campaign, so it is expected that our candidates and their campaign managers do their best to win the hearts of their fellow students.

We learned that candidates usually get makeovers, go out and shake people's hands so that they get to know their "constituants". They usually have a slogan and brochures (which our whole class with have soon!) and a "platform" on which they are basing their elections. Even posters!

The kids also learned a different way to do our division and multiplication by 10, 100 and 1000s from a supply teacher that  I had in for a period! For some it was helpful. Hopefully it wasn't too confusing for others.
Gym had the kids huffing and puffing as they went through the fitness stations after a good stretch together.

So, there you have it. Another full day. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thursday night and we'll see you bright and early at the usual time on Friday a.m.

Cheers!

Ms. Wagner

P.S. Congratulations to Sebastian who successfully completed the math questions on the blog last night.
