Day 82 - Friday Reading Day (Bring sleeping bag, pad, pjs, good book), Favourite Picture Book for Kindergarten Buddies, Math Quiz on Friday (conversions and problem solving)

Before I forget...please remember to bring in your Pizza, Milk, Popcorn forms if you are interested in ordering.

Today was fun because the kids did their campaign speeches, and what a GREAT job they all did! We heard promises from bring your pets to school to more janitors at the school!  The kids dressed for success and presented well, some even went the extra mile and had Powerpoint/Prezis behind them.
We've had snacks and posters and special pins handed out. These guys are taking campaigning to the next level! Well done Cady, Hanna, Lauren B, Lauren H., Ethan, Logan, Zack, Maya, Cassie and Julia! This will definitely be a close race!

The election will be on Monday, so stay tuned. Tomorrow will be the last day for campaigning.

Today in math we had a quiz about multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000. All of the kids need to get that signed tonight, so please go over the 5 questions at home. A few did really well, and a few did ok and some still need to work on the concept. We will do other quizzes throughout this week to solidify the idea.

On Monday there will be a bigger quiz on conversions of measurement units. A practice test is on the blog tonight, though we're still working on this concept.

In language today we started to talk about procedural writing about something the kids are interested in. They roughly mapped out something that they want to write about (using pictures) to give a step by step idea of how to do something. We had everything from slapshots to braiding hair.

Have a wonderful evening everyone. See you tomorrow.
