Day 90-91 Health Test Tomorrow, Return your Reading Log Tomorrow PLEASE!!!

Today began with French and then it was off to the races with our language groups. During language the kids had the opportunity to vote for the party that they were most interested in from Ms. Finnimore's class. Late last week we had the chance to hear their speeches and base our votes on those. It's been a fun  process to say the least.

We had a big push in math today. The kids were challenged to find the area of a couple of different, irregular shapes. They learned that you can either find the area of the whole thing and then subtract the area of the piece that is to be removed OR divide the irregular shape into pieces, find all of the areas and then add them together.
Wowsa! Some kids picked it up with incredible ease! Others are still working through the concept, but the cool part is, we'll have more opportunity to do it tomorrow too. Here is a website that can help you practice this concept. If you go on THIS ONE, it is a teaching video.

DPA ended 4th period and started 5th. Then it was off to the races with our two songs that we are learning, "I Believe" (Olympic inspiration) and Unwritten (I dreamt that we should do this one!).
Drama ended the day!
